Easy-to-follow Guide to a Perfect Eyewear

Wearing a sunglass requires certain points to be followed if you wish to be fashion-conscious.

Sunglasses are not just a fashion accessory. They protect us from radiation exposure and reduces eye fatigue.

Similar to a well-fit suit or a perfect suit, your sunglasses should also fit in perfectly to your face, for a better look. However, we often discuss a lot about well-fit suits with our friends, but talks related to a perfect pair of sunglasses are often neglected.

While buying a sunglass, you need to know your face shape. Certain face shapes look better in a particular sunglass, while others don't. Your face shape may be round, oval, square, or heart-shaped, and it is important you correlate your sunglass to the corresponding face shape.

Besides face shape, there are other points which determine whether your sunglass is perfect fit or well-fit or not. Below we try to enlist them one by one in an easy-to-follow manner for our readers.

1. Sunglass should lie at the centre between your hairline and edge of your jaw. This makes sense as positioning your sunglass symmetrically at the centre looks more organised rather than having it placed asymmetrical.

2. Width of frame should be equal to the width of face. Or, another way of assessing your frame width is by having your frame width just extend pass the cheek bones.

If you can insert more than one finger between your frame arm and temple, then it means your frame width is too wide. Opposite to this, if your frame arm and temple are too close to each other, then your frame width is narrow for your face.

3. Your eyes should be at horizontal center and in vertical top-third. However, this point depends upon the 2nd point, i.e. the width of your frame. If your frame width is too narrow or too wide, then inevitably, your eyes won't be positioned in the centre. So, it is important your frame width is of appropriate size.

Another way to verify the position of your eyes in your eyewear is by checking whether the bottom of your eyes is at the vertical midpoint of the lens or not. Usually, if this is achieved, then your eyewear is of appropriate fit.

4. You should be able to see half of your eyebrows above your frame. However, this point should be followed only after point 3 is achieved. If you are wearing a sunglass which is not large enough to reach upto eyebrows, then it is not essential and feasible to maintain this point.

A well-fit or a perfect sunglass makes you look better and more fashionable.

5. Your glasses should gripple your temples lightly. More specifically, the arm of your glass should touch your temples just infront of your ears.

The arm of your glass should not curve early as well. The arm should run in straight upto your ears, and only then curve down.

6. There should be no gap or only a very slight gap between the bridge of your frame and tip of nose. The bridge should fit comfortably, and should neither be too loose nor too tight.

Bonus Points

1. If you have square or angular jaws, use round or curved frames. Opposite to this, if you have rounded jaws, use angular frames.

2. If you have a top-heavy face, use bottom-heavy frame and vice-versa.

3. If you have a longer face, use a frame with a slightly longer height.

4. If you have a wider face, use a frame with a slightly wider width.

I suppose, these points were helpful. I would also recommend you to buy your eyewear in a local shop, rather than online. And, try as many eyewears as you can before you get the perfect eyewear for your face.

Thanks, as always, for reading!
